What is Site USB Device Server and how can I use it?

Site USB Device Server (DSS-2) is a USB-over Ethernet device server that connects local work sites with remote data loggers over a local network or Internet.  The following diagram shows how you can use it for remote access to SITE-LOG and iLOG data loggers.

If the Device Server and the computer are not in the same subnetwork, you need to use the following settings in order to let SiteView find the Device Server across the network:

  1. Under USB Device Comm. inside SiteView, enter the IP address of the network where the Device Server is connected to.
  2. In the router configuration of the Device Server’s network, forward the IP address and the port to the local IP address and the port of the Device Server.
